Lesson 4 of 7 · ~2 min

Upright vs. reversed (and when to skip it)

A reversed card is physically upside-down. Traditional readers treat reversals as:

  • The card's energy blocked, internalised, or showing its shadow, OR
  • An emphasis on the reversed interpretation listed on the card's page.

If you're new, use only upright meanings for your first ten readings. You'll learn the 78 cards faster without the reversal overhead. Later, flip a card and see if the reversed reading hits differently — trust your gut.
