Know your birth date and full name at birth
Numerology reduces two inputs — your birth date and your full name at birth — into a small set of single-digit (and master) numbers. Use the date on your birth certificate and the name exactly as it was printed. Nicknames, adoption names, and marriage changes each generate their own minor charts on top.

Calculate your life path number
Add every digit of your birth date and reduce until you hit a single digit — with one exception: if an intermediate sum lands on 11, 22, or 33, stop there. Those are master numbers and carry the energy of their unreduced form on top of the reduced one.

Same Pythagorean values, but this time only the vowels in your full birth name. The resulting number is your soul urge (sometimes called heart’s desire) — what you want on a soul level, the quiet pull that guides your real choices.

- Personality number — sum the consonants in your birth name. Reflects how others see you at first impression.
- Birthday number — simply reduce the day you were born (1-31). A small specific talent you bring into this life.

Once you have the numbers, look up each one. Every digit 1-9 has an archetype: 1 = leader, 2 = partner, 3 = creator, 4 = builder, 5 = seeker, 6 = nurturer, 7 = mystic, 8 = achiever, 9 = humanitarian. The master numbers 11/22/33 sit on top with intensified themes — 11 is the illuminator, 22 is the master builder, 33 is the master teacher.

- Which name do I use if I changed it?
- Always use the full name as written on your birth certificate for the natal numbers. A name you adopted later (marriage, legal change, pen name) creates a secondary chart that layers on top — useful for analyzing a specific chapter of life, but never the primary reading.
- Why do master numbers (11, 22, 33) matter?
- Master numbers indicate higher-octave versions of their reduced form. An 11 carries both the 2 (partnership) and an intensified spiritual-illumination theme. Traditionally they're kept unreduced when they appear as intermediate sums, because they can be harder to live out but carry more potential.
- How is numerology different from astrology?
- Astrology reads the sky at your birth. Numerology reads the numbers encoded in your date of birth and your name. Both are symbolic systems for self-knowledge, but numerology is language-dependent (it works on the letters and numerals you were given at birth), while astrology is celestial and culture-independent.
- Is numerology accurate?
