Trimshamsa
The Trimshamsa is the diagnostic chart for adversity — illness, accidents, hidden enemies, mental affliction, and the patterns by which suffering enters life. Unlike other vargas, its 30 parts are unequal: in odd signs Mars rules 0–5°, Saturn 5–10°, Jupiter 10–18°, Mercury 18–25°, Venus 25–30°; in even signs Venus 0–5°, Mercury 5–12°, Jupiter 12–20°, Saturn 20–25°, Mars 25–30°. The Sun and Moon never own D-30 parts — by classical design, this is the 'shadow chart' where the luminaries don't bestow comfort. Read it whenever the question concerns chronic illness, surgery risk, mental affliction, or quiet enemies; the planet ruling a 6th/8th/12th lord's D-30 sign tells you the texture of the difficulty (Mars: sudden/surgical, Saturn: chronic/structural, Mercury: nervous/cognitive, Jupiter: liver/metabolic, Venus: relational/reproductive).
