The seventh house — Yuvati Bhava — governs the spouse, marriage, business partnerships, all one-on-one public dealings, sexual energy, and the way one engages in committed unions. The 7th lord and Venus (kalatra karaka — natural significator of spouse) are the two most important factors in marriage analysis. The 7th is also called a maraka (death-causing) house in timing analysis. As a kendra, planets here are powerful — but their nature determines the marriage's character.
